Missions

 MISSION OPPORTUNITIES:

We currently need volunteers to deliver meals for the “Feed the Elderly” program. Please contact Janie Helton (336-648-1125 or esloop@triad.rr.com) if you would like to help.

FBC Elkin has three Woman’s Mission groups. Our WMU groups find ways that our church membership can encourage and support mission involvement in our community, state, nation and around the world. If you would like to get involved, any of the three groups would love to have you.

  • Eidson Group meets Second Monday at 2pm in the church library. Sylvia Eidson is the contact.

  • Faye Comer Group meets Second Monday at 6:30pm at Matty’s Restaurant at 1111 N Bridge St. Peggy Rhodes is the contact.

  • Lunch Bunch Group meets Fourth Monday at Noon at Cedarbrook Country Club at 225 Country Club Rd in State Road. Jeane Knight is the contact.

“Christ has no body now but yours; no hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes with which he looks with compassion on this world. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.” — St. Teresa of Avila

We have a heart for missions! We believe mission involvement is the natural result of a real faith. When our hearts are filled by God, we naturally want to share God’s love with others.

We believe that every person has a mission and their own place to serve. Finding their place of service and becoming the presence of Christ to others is the first step in building the kind of relationships that will take Christ’s love to the world.

Following Christ’s command to “Go therefore and make disciples,” our church supports missions through our praying, our serving, our going, and our giving. Through summer mission trips, family mission projects, and local mission organizations, our congregation works to serve and share with people and communities in need. Join us in being the hands and feet of Christ to a world in need.
